Instructions for Transferring Services

If you currently have services in your name and need to transfer to another address:

1.  Call the utilities and let them know that you are moving.

2.  Send an email to OCA (info@JoinOCA.com) with your new address and the date you want the service connected at the new address.  We will send a Service Request to the utilities and let them know that we are still covering your deposits.

3.  If you are moving from Tuscaloosa to Northport (or vice versa) and need water service in your name at the new address, you'll have to pay the appropriate water fee.  You can make the payment using our online payment processing service located atwww.JoinOCA.com/paynow.  If you're moving from Northport to Tuscaloosa, the fee is $20.  If you're moving from Tuscaloosa to Northport, the fee is $45 (this includes the required $25 prepayment of connection fee required by Northport Water and we mail it to them on your behalf).

Leaving Town and No Longer Need Service?

Call the utilities and give them the date you want the service removed from your name.  

Do NOT leave services in your name for a friend, roommate or sublessor to use!  They have NO LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY to pay the bill if you let them use it in YOUR NAME!  

Give the utilities a forwarding address where they can mail your FINAL BILL.  There is ALWAYS a final bill due once you have your services disconnected or removed from your name.  If you have not received your FINAL BILL at your forwarding address within four weeks of moving out - be sure to call the utilities and ASK about your balance!!  You will avoid extra expense and the possibility of having your credit affected if you will remember to check on your final bill!  A great tip is to put a reminder on the calendar on your smartphone and have it remind you to check on your account status about a month after you move out!
